Bezē Bakery: Online Store with Pickup Time Calendar

BEZE KONDITOREJA (“The taste that brings you home”) is a Riga bakery with two pickup locations: on Blaumaņa iela and on Brīvības iela. In the online store, cakes, pastries and ready-made dishes are ordered in advance and picked up at the time and place you choose.

The Challenge

A bakery has its own rules. Products have to be prepared in advance, each location has its own opening hours, some cakes are available at only one bakery, some are sold by weight, and businesses order with an invoice. A standard online store can’t handle any of that. That’s why we created a custom, individual design for the bakery’s brand and built all of this logic ourselves.

What We Built

• Pickup time calendar. The bakery sets opening hours for each location and day of the week, as well as closed days. The customer picks a date and a time in 30-minute slots. The system takes the preparation time into account on its own: before 17:00 the earliest option is the next day, later than that, the day after tomorrow.
• Products available only at a specific location. For a product or category, you specify at which bakery it can be picked up. The cart finds a location where everything can be picked up at once. If there isn’t one, it clearly says what to do.
• Prices by weight or by piece. A price per kilogram or per piece, an “Order by weight” button, and the product weight shown in the order and in emails.
• Company details fill in automatically. The customer starts typing a company name or registration number, and our data service loads the company details and VAT number from the business register.
• Pickup time wherever the team needs it: in the order list, in the order, in emails and on the PDF invoice.
• A custom order page for celebration cakes, allergen information and a distance sales contract in PDF format.
• EvoEX Shield protection. The scanner guard recognizes and blocks attackers’ scanners before they can find weak spots, and we spot vulnerabilities in good time, before anyone exploits them.

The result

• Every order arrives with an exact pickup time and location. The team knows what to prepare and when.
• Customers can’t choose a time when the cake can’t be made, or a location where it isn’t available.
• Businesses place orders without retyping their company details.
• The modules are built specifically around the bakery’s workflow, so the bakery doesn’t have to adapt to an off-the-shelf solution.
