Attacks happen every day. Here's how we stop them before you notice

These holidays were special for the EvoEX team. In just two days, we achieved significant improvements to our clients' websites' security levels, and simultaneously brought a long-cherished idea to life: establishing our own IT security center, CyberEX. Read on to discover what it is and how it benefits your website.

If you have a website or online store, someone is already knocking on your door right now. Not because you invited them, but because bots crawl the internet 24/7, hunting for outdated plugins, weak passwords, and forgotten files. Our own sensors detect scanners every day searching for configuration files, backups, and admin panels. This happens to every public website, regardless of size.

The problem is that small businesses rarely have their own IT security specialist. A hacked website is often discovered not by the owner, but by a customer ("your site redirected me to a casino") or Google ("this site may be dangerous"). By then, reputation and sales have already taken a hit.

That's why EvoEX created its own security center, CyberEX, with dedicated protection for client websites: EvoEX Shield.

What is it, in simple terms

CyberEX is EvoEX's security center in the client portal. It receives signals from all protected websites and servers, compares them, makes decisions (block, alert, create a task), and displays everything live on a world map.

EvoEX Shield is the guard on your website itself. It stops attacks on the spot and reports to the CyberEX center. Depending on your setup, it looks like this:

The key difference: websites protect each other

A regular security plugin learns only from its own website and works in isolation. CyberEX connects all protected websites and servers into one network. If an attacker tries to breach one website, their address goes onto a shared blacklist, and other websites stop them at the first request.

To avoid punishing innocent visitors, an address only goes on the list if confirmed by multiple independent sources. Initial blocks are brief and only extend for repeated offenders.

How it works in practice

In the middle of the night, a bot from a foreign server checks hundreds of website addresses looking for configuration files. Shield recognizes the scanner and stops it. If that same address had already tried the same thing on another EvoEX website, the others stop it immediately.

No one gets woken up because the attack is thwarted. In the morning, it's in the daily summary.

If a sensor detects something serious—for example, a website suddenly runs foreign code—an incident with a number is created. The EvoEX team gets notified instantly, and a task appears in the client's account with a deadline and step-by-step instructions: what to check, what to isolate, how to recover. Our goal is an action plan, not panic and a hundred unread emails.

What you get

  • Silent operation. The system stops most attacks on its own, and you won't be buried in alerts.

  • Portal overview. In the "Security" section, you see your websites, stopped attacks, and incidents in plain language.

  • Monthly report. An AI-generated summary for the month: how many attacks, what kind, what was done.

  • Vulnerability alerts. The system knows which plugins and versions are on your site and compares them against a public vulnerability database. If it finds an issue, we spot it and can update before attackers do.

  • Login page with your branding. The standard WordPress login is replaced with a page featuring your logo and colors.

  • No extra work. The plugin installs itself and updates itself, and logged-in admins are never blocked.

What exactly we monitor

"]["

At the website level, Shield provides a firewall (WAF), login protection, bot and scanner detection, fake search engine blocking, file integrity checks, and honeytokens—security credentials that no legitimate user would ever use, so their activation is a sure sign of a breach.

For websites on EvoEX servers, we additionally monitor login attempts, system file and configuration changes, unusual outbound connections, and typical signs of a compromised site. If the sensor itself goes silent, that's also an alert.

Critical questions, honest answers

Does this replace Wordfence or similar plugins?

No, Shield works alongside them. The difference is the network and the people: events reach a team that's responsible for your site, complete with tasks and deadlines.

Does it slow down the site?

Checks happen locally, but the blacklist syncs in the background. If the CyberEX center becomes unreachable, the site continues working.

Can it block real visitors?

We've accounted for that. Blocks are temporary, every protection can be switched to "log only" mode, there's an emergency override, and EvoEX can unblock an address across all sites with a single action.

Will it hurt SEO?

The official networks of real search engines and AI bots are updated daily, and we never block any of them. We only block those pretending to be Google when they aren't.

How is the system itself tested?

Every release goes through automated vulnerability scanning and independent code security review, and any issues found are fixed before release. Plugin updates are cryptographically signed, so it won't install forged versions.

Privacy

Usernames, passwords, or form contents from your site are never sent to CyberEX. We only send what's needed to detect an attack: the attacker's IP address, browser identifier, requested path, and attack type. EvoEX servers are located in Finland, data stays within the European Union, and processing complies with GDPR.

What this doesn't mean

No system guarantees absolute security, and we don't promise it either. CyberEX and Shield substantially reduce risk, stop automated attacks in multiple layers, and ensure we catch problems quickly. They're not a replacement for backups, updates, or strong passwords—they're a supplement to them.

How to get started

For EvoEX clients who choose to build their projects with us, CyberEX and Shield protection is free.

Fill out the form on the website evoex.eu and select "Consultation / audit" as the service. We'll be in touch, discuss your site together, and figure out how CyberEX and Shield can help you specifically.

Existing clients can see security reports in their EvoEX portal under "Security". If your site isn't connected yet, get in touch with us.
